Name: Delia Anne-Marie Addy
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Description:
Her hair is light blonde in color and sits just above her shoulders. Even though it is fairly straight, it never sits properly on her head like would be expected. It falls in choppy lengths, the most prominent part of it being the bangs that she usually sweeps towards the left of her face. Short in length, don’t let this mislead you to believe that she always wears it in the same manner. She has a plethora of styles in her arsenal and is constantly adding more. The styles themselves depend on how she is feeling; one day she’ll have it in two buns atop her head as though she were a little girl… Other times she might choose to braid it overnight and then take the braids out for a crimped effect.
Delia’s eyes are another thing to note. When first looking at them, one might not notice how remarkable they are and describe them as “prominent with a dark blue shade” and while that in itself is a fairly accurate description it takes away from the grandeur that a person would see if they looked a bit closer. To start off, the color is a very peculiar one, sitting somewhere between a clear cerulean and a deep teal. They take up the better part of her face; the fact that they could be considered extremely oversized only enhancing her beauty. Glossy and calm, they play a major factor in her sometimes aloof and uncaring nature.
History:
Born to a cellist and a composer, it isn’t hard for one to assume that Delia Anne-Marie would be a gifted little girl. People expected the best from two musicians, and often speculated the way she would be talented. Perhaps a pianist to accompany her mother… Or another composer to accentuate her father. People spoke highly of the Addy family and praised their baby girl without her ever giving them a reason.
In her childhood years, Delia was a prodigy of sorts. She could sing well enough, her voice in the range of a Soprano one, her lungs powerful, and her voice only described as that of an angel. During these years, Delia spent a lot of time in her parent’s church. The Addy family were known Catholics, they followed every rule written in the Bible and were the perfect model for an English family. Erik, her father, often composed songs for their choir in which Delia was often the lead singer. They went to mass every Sunday, and did things that a good Christian family should.
In school Delia was also a shining beacon. Her work ethic and high intellect often lead to teachers labeling her as “Gifted.” She progressed through the grades easily, and being the daughter of two known musicians, she was often in the spotlight. She would put on a smile and happy face like she was expected and save her parents the trouble of explaining what went wrong.
In public… Everything was perfect. But once the Addy family got home and the doors were closed… Things took a turn for the darker.
Elizabeth and Erik Addy were two spiritually aware beings. Erik was an electricity manipulator whose potential has never been discovered. At his current level he can conduct the electricity through his body and create electric force fields around his hands. Elizabeth was more healing based. As a little girl she was in a terrible car accident that should’ve killed her, but she survived. Her entire family was fatally injured in that car accident; Elizabeth’s injuries should’ve been fatal as well, but her passive manipulation of spirit particles was enough to save her. She was a coma for weeks, but eventually her body healed itself. It was written in the media as a miracle, but it was really her body functioning in a way a normal human can’t. Her powers were never fully developed, but it is speculated that if she was trained, she would be able to heal others as well as herself.
With her parents being two powerful spiritually aware beings, Delia couldn’t understand why they had chosen to opt out of the government. She didn’t understand why two people with so much to offer could turn their back on their community and their race. While she put up with their charade in public, in the confines of her own home she could barely stand the sight of them. Arguments constantly arose between the once happy couple and their rebellious daughter. Delia was constantly being watched by the community, there were many people who wanted to see her succeed. They wanted her to be the perfect daughter of the perfect couple. But with as many people wanting her to succeed, there were just as many who wanted her to fail. They wanted to see her angry, they wanted to see her fuck up and ruin her family’s name. Humans are destructive in nature, and even if she hadn’t done anything to them; some would still wish harm upon her.
It was at this time that her parents enrolled her into martial arts training. Even though they wanted to pretend that their lives were perfect, they also wanted her to be able to defend herself. What they didn’t realize is that learning how to fight would only make her more insistent upon joining the “military.”
At the age of 17, Delia had already decided that when it was offered to her; she would join the organization despite her parent’s wishes for her stay away. To them her decision was as good as choosing to die, they didn’t see that she wanted to protect humans from utter destruction. They didn’t see that even though she was just a girl; she wanted to be something more, that she was born to be something more. By asking her to hide the fact that was spiritually aware was an insult to her. Her skills were like a gift and ignoring them was like throwing them away… Telling God that she didn’t want what he had to give her. Being Christians themselves, her parents hoped that there was somewhere else for them to go after they died. They believed in the same God that a normal human would, an all knowing being that gave them gifts for a purpose. They had chosen to ignore those gifts, to throw it back in their God’s face, but how could they expect their daughter to do the same thing? Delia often argued with her parents on this subject, on their hypocritical nature, on what their duties were as spiritually aware beings, on what life was meant to be about… Argument after argument after argument, nothing ever changed. The Addy family, the family that was perfect to the public, was a complete nightmare in their own home.
It was in the aftermath of one of their arguments that Delia found herself at the mall. Her birthday was approaching quickly and on her birthday she would be enlisting herself to her country. She would be a part of their “army” and she would do something to save her country. It was on that day that she would meet her death. Another spiritually aware renegade was at the mall that day, with a very heinous agenda. This one had grown up being trained in his art, but like her parents had discarded it when he was offered a position. He terrorized the mall, killing five spiritually aware teenagers before shooting himself. Even with the government watching, no one could’ve predicted he would do something like this. He had declined working for the government for not wanting to kill, but that was exactly what he did that day. He used his superior Spirit Power to pinpoint spiritually aware teenagers and shot each one through the head within minutes.
Death came quickly for Delia. A gunshot at point blank easily stopping all brain functions, leaving her body a bloody mess on the mall’s tiled floor. She had never seen it coming, and even though her abilities gave her an edge of the normal populace; it was her ignorance to the world around her that caused her death. She didn’t realize that being spiritually aware would make her a target for radical groups. She hadn’t realized that even though the government was watching them, there were still loopholes that people could slip through.
The attack had been publicized as an act of randomness. The teens that had been killed were merely at the wrong place at the wrong time. The gunman was said to be clinically insane, having committed suicide with the last bullet in his Python. To the public she was a statistic of an act of terror… To the people who knew the truth, she was a target, killed for her abilities.
Delia Anne-Marie Addy died three weeks before her 18th Birthday.
