Name: Weiss Koenig
Age: 52, appears 25
Sex: Male
Description:Weiss is tall and handsome, with carefully groomed white hair that flows down his back and warm, friendly green eyes that look almost yellow in the light. He is always well-dressed and approachable, and always smiling. He is as friendly as he appears, happy to help out those in need, but beneath his mild-mannered exterior lies a fierce protector of the innocent and weak.
History: Weiss was born in Germany to loving but absent-minded parents. He received a good education and wanted for nothing except company, something that was solved when somehow his parents succeeded in providing him with a sister. Despite the fifteen years between them there were never two siblings as close as Weiss and Alba. He doted on her, and when his parents were killed in a car accident when she was only a year old, he cared for her rather than let her be adopted by another family.
Weiss and Alba were happy together, until she was 5 and became ill. Tests later showed that poor Alba was terminally ill, with cancer. Weiss fell into despair at the thought of losing his precious sister, but found it hard to stay so despondent in the face of her smile. She was always laughing and playing with Weiss, and at last he found his smile again. He was determined that Alba should enjoy life, no matter how short it was, and to his surprise it was a further two years before she finally succumbed to her illness. Her last wish, before she slipped into a coma, was that Weiss should keep smiling for her.
It was difficult, but Weiss managed it. He felt he had no reason to live but that promise he had made, and he wandered from his home, doing his best to help people and provide a friendly face.
His reason to live, ironically, came from his untimely death. He was 25 and found himself face to face with a Hollow for the first time. Of course, he could not see the beast, but he was sensitive enough to the spirit energy that he could feel it. He could also see the spirit of a girl who the monster was pursuing, although he didn't realise the significance of the chain from her chest. All he knew was that she looked a little like Alba, and she was in trouble. That was enough for Weiss, and he leapt to her defence. The Hollow killed him in one fell move.
Now that he was dead he could see the girl's pursuer for what it really was, a monstrous spider-like creature with a grotesque mask. He continued to try and protect the girl, but they were both saved by a mysterious red-haired girl in black. She swept down, slew the beast in a swift motion, and before Weiss could say anything to her, he and the girl were sent to the Rukongai.
Weiss couldn't forget his saviour. He adapted quickly to life in the Rukongai, and learnt all he could of the Soul Society and the Shinigami. He devoured stories of their heroic acts, and set his heart on joining their illustrious ranks, on finding the red-haired girl and thanking her. He also yearned for the power she had shown, that which had let her save the soul of the poor girl.
After some time he found a way into the Shino Academy, and dedicated himself to his training. He feels that he now has a purpose, and the happy-go-lucky, warm and loving Weiss has returned at long last.
He has recently graduated and is set to join squad 8, from where he intends to begin his investigations into who the red-haired Shinigami is.
